Our Story

A design practice beginning with wax.

Joll Studio is an independent Singapore studio creating sculptural candles and considered pieces for the home.

Inspired by nature, architecture and the small details of everyday spaces, our work explores form, texture and material, creating pieces designed to be lived with, noticed and used.

How it began

Before Joll Studio, I spent 15 years working in marketing.

I had always wanted to build something of my own, but for a long time that idea existed quietly in the background. In 2024, I stepped away from corporate life and eventually found myself working with wax, drawn to the process of turning something simple and familiar into an object with shape, weight and presence.

What started with candles gradually became an exploration of something broader: how everyday objects can bring character and atmosphere into a space.

More than a candle

We see candles as more than something to light.

A sculptural candle can sit on a shelf, coffee table or bedside long before a flame touches it. Its curves, texture and proportions become part of the room around it.

That idea continues to shape the way we design.

Rather than following trends or creating for the sake of adding something new, we are slowly developing a visual language of our own. One influenced by organic forms, architecture, material and the quiet irregularities found in things made by hand.

Our fragrances take a slightly different approach.

Instead of beginning with lists of notes, they are shaped around places, routines and memories. The smell of coffee before the day begins, fresh sheets in the morning, or a room you remember long after leaving it.

Because scent, like an object, often stays with us through the feeling it creates.

Made slowly, in Singapore

Every Joll Studio piece is made in small batches from our home workshop in Singapore.

The process is hands-on: pouring, testing, adjusting, demoulding and finishing each piece individually. Small variations in colour, texture and finish are a natural part of making this way.

We don't try to remove every trace of the hand behind the object.

We think that is part of what gives it character.

Where we're going

Joll Studio began with candles, but candles are only the starting point.

Over time, we hope to explore new forms, materials and functional pieces for the home, building a collection connected by the same curiosity about form, atmosphere and everyday living.

Slowly, one object at a time.
